Ruth Ann Brown 78, of Hickman Ave.St.Clairsville, OH died Thursday January 19, 2012 at Ruby Hospital Morgantown, WV.
She was born April 4, 1933 at Boydsville, OH a daughter of the late Ernest and Edith Calloway Walker.
She was a member of Shiloh Temple and Belmont County Senior Citizens Center.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Emanuel Bass Brown in 2003, her son Delbert Brown and two brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are her children Emanuel “Sonny” Brown, Moundsville, WV, Terry Pamela Brown, Tiffin, OH and April Stacey Agnew of Bridgeport, OH, two sisters Paulette Johnson and Barbara Young and her brother Luther Walker, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory St.Clairsville, OH.
Ruth’s funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Shiloh Temple Bridgeport with Rev. Rosie Pitts and elder T.C. Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery Blaine.
Memorial contributions may be made to Belmont County Senior Citizens.

When I brought my 97 year old mother to the Senior Center, Ruth would always jump up and help her to remove her coat, get her walker and help her to her seat. She always made sure I got a call to pick up Mom at the end of the day. Ruth was a kind and gentle women and me, my mother, and I know all the people at the Senior Center will miss her help. Our condolences to all of Ruth’s family.
