Russell Lee ROTHACHER, 73, of Shadyside, OH died Friday, April 7, 2006 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born November 20, 1932 in Monroe County, OH, a son of the late John and Esther Straub Rothacher.

Russ was a retired truck driver with Hendershot Trucking Co., was a member of the American Legion Post 521, Shadyside, VFW Post 5565, Powhatan, Steelworkers Union and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Russ is survived by his wife, Nancy Howell Rothacher, a son Donald Glenda Rothacher, 2 sisters; Virginia Campbell of New Philadelphia, OH, and DeloresRonald, Sr. Smith of Sardis, OH, 4 grandchildren; Brandy Rothacher of Walker, LA, Jeff Kizziah of Brookwood, AL, Casey and Eric Plowman of Vance, AL, 8 nephews and 3 nieces; David, Scott, Cliff, Shauna, Lori, Mike, John, Jim, Cheryl, Mark, and Tom.

Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, where services will be held on Monday, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Donald J. Cordery officiating.

Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH where the Belmont County Council of the American Legion will hold full military graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Fire and Emergency Squad Association.
