December, 1978 – Dick and I were the proud parents of our 6 month old daughter, Elizabeth, and couldn’t wait to show her off to – well, someone we were visiting for Christmas. They paid no attention to her whatsoever, and needless to say, we were hurt. Well, Dick was hurt; I was angry. Stopping at Aunt Mary’s on our return trip would surely remedy that. We pulled up to her house behind some guy who had also just arrived – to see his mother, and I was delighted when I realized it was Rudy. I hadn’t seen him for so long. This man, my cousin, this wonderful guy gave me the world’s biggest smile as he strolled over to my car door, gently eased me aside, and said “I’ll hug you in a minute. First I wanna see this beautiful baby I hear so much about”. He scooped her up, hugged her, raved about her – and then gave me a bear hug. He warmed our hearts, and earned a place in mine that few others have ever matched. When his own mother passed away, he and Sandy comforted me. I loved her so much. Years later, he and you Margie were there for me during a time of joy and returned soon after for a time of sorrow. Bless you Rudy Mucheck and know that you will be forever loved.

Margaret the mass and service for Rudy was beautiful. I will truely miss Rudy he was always the best to work with at the sales meetings and I was blessed by all he gave to me the last 4 years. He was never too busy and always bright and knoweldgable and willing to share. Im sorry I did not get to meet you after the service. I do not do well with loosing friends and would not have been able to get out a word. I had all I could do to pass along Tom Edwards regards to your daughter without a crack in my voice. I feel as though I know members of the family having listened to Rudy share stories of the family. What a guy Ill surley miss so how are you billy boy for a long time to come

Mrs.Mucheck, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed working with your husband. I always looked forward to his phone calls, he called me his little “Cajun Buddy” and seeing him at the sales meetings. I will miss Tom taking his poker winnings away every year to send to his wife. Everyone always got a big kick out of that every year. We will definitely miss the “Big Guy”

May God Bless you and your family

Rudy leaves a legion of friends behind as well as those who have preceded him going to the Lord. He was a good person to know since he always left the impression that he was there if you needed him. My memory of Rudy goes back to our senior year at Central when our basketball team, the Diamond Music Lounge played in various Wheeling city leagues winning all of them with a 27-0 record. Rudy was always the consistent player. As the years went by, as often happens, our friendships become limited to those reunions. I always looked forward to them because I knew Rudy would be there—still the affable and classic gentleman. I will miss Rudy like so many but he left a wonderful legacy for all us to remember him.

Sandy, Marge and family,

Being much younger than my Mucheck cousins, my fondest memories from visiting Aunt Mary’s was of the three big guys Joe, George & Rudy who usually hung with the grownups, but always took time to tease the younger ones.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To The Mucheck Family: I just learned of Rudy’s passing and I want you all to know how very sorry I am for your loss. Rudy was always so sweet to me and so pleasant. He was a wonderful person. He will be missed. I last spoke with him in the cafeteria at Canonsburg Hospital a couple of years ago and we had such a nice visit. He was so kind.
