SAVOLDI, Rose Mary Cara, 91, of Bridgeville, Pa., formerly of Wheeling Island, died Monday, July 29, 2002, in Broadmore Manor, Bridgeville. She was born March 16, 1911, in Benwood, WV, daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa Campiti Cara. She was a retired seamstress and furrier at the former Horne’s and Stone & Thomas Department Stores, both of Wheeling, a member of the former Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, both of Wheeling, and a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Bridgeville. She was also a member of the former Wheeling Music Club, the Semper Fidelis Club, Bellaire, Ohio the Catholic Golden Agers, Bridgeville; and a member of the AARP of Wheeling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Savoldi; a brother, Dominic Mac Cara. Surviving are a son, Richard L. Savoldi and his wife, Kathleen, of Wooster, Ohio; a daughter, Donna S. Schmitt and her husband, Dr. Thomas, of Bridgeville; three grandchildren. Greg Savoldi and his wife, Michele, ofDeleware, Ohio, Tara Dieguez Wise and her husband, John, of Bridgeville, and Anita Savoldi Martin and her husband, Ty, of Loveland, Ohio; four great-grandchidren, Cara and Eric Wise, both of Bridgeville, and Hadley and Michael Savoldi, both of Columbus. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where Rosary Devotions will be held at 8:00 pm with Deacon John Moses. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, August 2, 2002, at St. Joseph Cathedral, with the Rev. Charles B. Teufel as celebrant. Entombment in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.
