Romalda Jean McCuiston, 77, went to be with the Lord February 22, 2015. She was born in Washington, NC November 1, 1937 to the late Byron Thomas and Violet Estelle Jefferson.
Jean is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter Donald McCuiston; her daughter, Melinda & James Brewer; her grandchildren, Ivy Grace and Ezra James; her brother, Roger & Louise Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Jean is predeceased by her son, Michael Meade.
A funeral Service will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at 2:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Ave., with Pastor Ronnie Morris of Lynnhaven UMC officiating. A visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 28 from 1-2pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be private. Online condolences may be shared with the family at altmeyer.com.

Even though Dad and I miss her so much, we are grateful that she is no longer suffering the pain that was so much a part of her life, and we are so thankful to have had her in our lives. I will miss you. You were one of the nicest, funniest person I know. You were a great friend and I am so sorry that I let life get to busy to be a better friend to you. Jean was an amazing woman! She was loved and will be missed! I, too, let time and distance slip up on us these last few years and that makes me sad!! We shared so many fun times, visits and long phone conversations.
