Roger Stephan Vance, 59, of McMechen, WV died Thursday July 25, 2013 in Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
Roger was born in Wheeling, on July 7, 1954.
He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Vance.
Roger is survived by his mother, Mary Rogers Vance of McMechen; brother, Michael Vance of FL.; sister, Cathy George Taylor of McMechen; nephew, Michael Jennifer Taylor of Wheeling; niece, Missy Sean O’Connell of St. Clairsville, OH; three great nephews, Finn, Riley and Cade and three great nieces, Maddi, Grace and Delaney.
A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, July 31, at 10am at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang serving as celebrant.

I am saddened on the passing of Stephan, I have known him for over 15 years as we worked together at Portobello Restaurant in Oakland, NJ. Stephan and I had many good times and I have so many funny and wonderful memories of him. He was a good friend I will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers go to all of his family in this tragic time. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Stephan’s passing, I met him during the US cycling tours and his humor was infectious. I haven’t seen him in a few years, but I last heard from him in March, just a note that he was sending good thoughts my way. Well I am sending those thoughts back to you in your time of sorrow.
Stephan was a great friend and a beautiful person. He touched the hearts of everybody he met. He will be missed by his family in WV and his extended family in other parts of the states, the UK, France NZ and Austraia, for his friendship knew no boundaries. He will be missed always..
