I was viewing recent obituaries online and I was saddened to see Mr. Cavin’s name listed. Besides being a great Scout leader, he was a friend to me and my family. I am grateful to him for shaping my life during my teenage years and attending my graduation from Bible College in 2000. He was there for my family when my Dad died in 2003. I am sorry I did not know about his passing when it happened. I hope his family will find comfort and treasure the memories of his life. I extend my condolences.

Roger was a great scout leader and my husband Tom had great things to say about and remember about Roger Cavin. We have often said that we haven’t heard from Roger in a long while. He used to drop by Shortys Bait and Tackle and say Hi.

My condolences to his family.

Mr. Cavin was a great scout leader in the Boy Scouts Troop 190 in Chesapeake, Virginia. I met him in 1974. We always had a great time camping and he spoke at my eagle scout ceremony for me in 1978. It is 2016 and I have been thinking about the wonderful times growing up as a kid in the scouts. After looking up his name, I found out today about his passing. May he rest in peace and I am thankful for his kindness, leadership, and friendship. Will never be forgotten. God Bless , from Jerry Fanshaw Troop 190 Eagle Scout 1978
