HALPIN, Robert W., 82, of Main Street, Wheeling, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling. He was a retired U.S. Federal Government employee; an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II; a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; and a member of Wheeling Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret E. Moran Halpin in June 2000; his parents, Joseph and Anna Burke Halpin; two brothers, Francis and Dode Halpin; three sisters, Elinder Waslis, Marguerite Dunlap and Edith Halpin. Surviving are two daughters, Judy A. Rice and her husband, Steven, of Wheeling and Christine M. Halpin of Germantown, MD.; several nephews and nieces. Friends are invited to attend funeral liturgy with Mass being celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, with the Rev. Larry Dorsch as celebrant. Military graveside services will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Residents Council, Bishop Joseph H.
