Robert L. Orlofske, 75, of Wheeling Avenue, Glen Dale, died Friday, June 29, 2001, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
He was born June 14, 1926, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late A.E. ”Butch” and Bernadine Rossell Orlofske.
He was a retired mechanical systems designer with Bayer Corp., New Martinsville, and a member of Local 70 International Brotherhood of Sheet Metal Workers. He was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Scott C. Orlofske and Tracy M. Orlofske; three brothers, William H., Richard C. and Francis E. Orlofske. Surviving are his wife, Gloria F. Stahl Orlofske; four sons, Terrance M. and his wife, Sherri of Powhatan Point, Ohio, Kevin M.and his wife, Lisa of Dunedin, Fla., Stacy G. and his wife, Caroline of Saudia Arabia and Sean L. and his wife, Debbie of Moundsville; a daughter, Leslie A. Zandron and her husband, David of Wheeling; two sisters, Joann M. Wodjewodka and her husband, John of Wheeling and Janet B. Orlofske of St. Clairsville; a brother, James E. ”Gary” Orlofske of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2001, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale, with the Rev. William J. Stenger as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
