Bob and I have been friends for many years as a result of our involvement in Mine Rescue. He will be missed by all who knew him. He touched the lives of so many people in the mining industry and was dedicated to providing the very best in education and training for our mine rescue teams. My condolences go out to the entire Schmidt family.

Bob worked with me at North American in the early 1980’s. He was always very dedicated, conscientious, and a man you could always count on. I used to see him once a year at the NAC reunion until he became to ill to attend. May he rest in peace. You have my and my wife, Mary Ann’s deepest condolences.
