Robert D. Frank, Sr.
Age 70

Robert D. Frank, Sr., 70 of McCormick Run Road, Salineville, OH died at his residence on Sunday, June 8, 2008 following a brief illness. He was born in East Palestine, OH on May 3, 1938, a son of the late John and Harriett C. Stanley Frank.

He retired in 1991 from Penn Power where he worked in the Maintenance Dept. for over 30 years. Mr. Frank retired from the US Army after 21 years of service where he served during Korea and three tours of Vietnam. While serving his country, he received two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Salinevile and the American Legion. Living his entire life in this area, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, riding his 4-wheeler and was a very active Grandpa.

His wife, Nancy Ann Schere Frank, whom he married on May 11, 1974, died on July 12, 2007.

Three sons, Steve Frank of Tacoma, WA, Brian Frank and his wife, Penny of Salineville and Robert Frank and his wife Millie of Salineville; two daughters, Anne Richards and her husband Andy of Westminister, MD and Rebecca Bailey of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Clyde Frank of Beckley, WV and Lonzo Frank of Rogers, OH; six sisters, Carol Watkins, Barbara Smith, Marjory Lindsay, Linda Ash, Betty Frum all of East Palestine, OH and Peggy Ash of Lisbon, OH; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive him.

Besides his wife and parents, two brothers, Edward Frank and Harold Frank as well as one sister, Auretta Chapelow preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Rohrer of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Highlandtown Cemetery where the Tri State Burial group and the Honor Guard of the West Virginia National Guard will accord full military honors.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Wellsville on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM

Brian, Penny & Family:

We are very sorry for your loss but know that he is much better above than here with us. He is not suffering any longer and the family will not have to suffer with him. If there is anything we can do please call us. Your are in our thoughts and prayers.
