Retired Chief Petty Officer Richard T. Case, passed away peacefully at his home on February 19, 2008.
He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served honorably in World War II and the Korean War. One of his most memorable times was his service on the D.E. John M. Bermingham. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service and continued to serve his country as a civil servant working on Naval Destroyers.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Adeline Case, father, Charles Case, Mother, Evelyn Case, Brother Charles Case, and grandson, Adrian Harrison.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his children, Philip Case, Pam Harrison, Evelyn Lovely & husband Dennis, Ted Case, all of Va. Beach. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Lovely & wife Karen, Hope Harrison, Elle Case, all of Va. Beach, and Charles Lovely & wife Kim of Newport News, great grandchildren, David, & Shaun Lovely, Adriana & Mariah Harrison, all of Va. Beach, and Joshua Lovely of Newport News. Richard will also be missed by his many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Feb 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Thursday, Feb 21 from 7-9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel.

Dick will be greatly missed by his fellow collectors, friends and acquaintances at the Virginia Beach Stamp Club.
