Virginia Beach – Richard Fredrick Raiter, 81, passed away January 25, 2015. Born in Minnesota to the late Leo and Evelyn Raiter, he was also preceded by his grandson Robert N. Raiter; and great granddaughter, Sierra J. Ross. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of The Church of the Ascension. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sandra Raiter; two children, Richard F. Raiter, Jr. and his wife Marlene; Susanne I. Griffen; 5 grandchildren, Derek Ross and his wife Chrissy, Richard F. Raiter, III, Michael Griffen, Joseph Raiter, and Zachery Griffen; 2 great grandchildren, Kahliah and Jonah Ross; sister, Pat Zimmerman; brothers; William Raiter, Bernie Raiter and his wife Jean; son in law, Michael Griffen; Kim Lane; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm at The Church of the Ascension in Virginia Beach with inurnment in the church columbarium to follow. The family would like to extend special thanks to Joanie and Meenal as well as the entire staff at Beth Sholom.
