Johnson, Richard A. "Beaner" 69, of Wheeling, died Monday, December 22, 2003 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1934 in Providence, RI, a son of the late Austin and Eva Nichols Johnson.
He was a retired sheet metal worker with Local #17, Boston, Mass., an Army veteran of the Korean War and a Episcopalian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Johnson Jr.and a brother, Frederick Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jo Longwell Johnson of Wheeling; a daughter, Denyce Cabral and her husband Michael of Lincoln, RI; a son, Peter R. Johnson of West Greenwich, RI; five sisters, Norma Parker of Providence, RI; Gladys May of Phoenix, AZ; Barbara Seeley and Dorothy Crosley both of Coventry, RI; Shirley Armstrong of Westerly, RI; two granddaughters, Sally Ann Johnson and Allison Johnson both of Warick, RI; several nieces and nephews.
Friends received from 4pm. till time of the services at 7pm. Friday December 26, 2003 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, with the Pastor Mike Ream officiating.

Pap beaner, I know everything wasnt well before you passed… and i know i didn’t come see you much.. but i couldn’t see you the way you was… i wanted to remember you by the way u was always cracking a joke and making people laugh! i will always remember your boat rides, yer meatballs, and your strawberry pancakes!!my favoriteall the hoildays we spent together… everyone loves and misses you … and now yer in a better place and your not sick anymore… I love you and Miss you a lot….
