Rhea Douglass Chiota
Age 72
Rhea Douglass Chiota, 72, of Moore Street, East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away, Friday, February 11, 2005 at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on June 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Herman L. and Freda Minor Cowdery, Sr. Living her entire life in the area, Mrs. Chiota was a wife, mother and grandmother. She attended the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Douglass in 1978 and her second husband, John Chiota.
She is survived by 4 sons, Kenneth E. Cowdery, Sr. and his wife, Donna of East Liverpool, Richard L. Douglass and his wife, Susan of Salem, William J. Douglass and his companion, Irene L. Shreve of East Liverpool and Kevin Douglass and his wife, Maria K. of East Liverpool; two daughters, Linda Douglass Morris and her husband, James of Toronto and Melissa L. Douglass Beaver and her husband, Steven of East Liverpool; two brothers, Herman Lloyd Cowdery and his wife Connie of East Liverpool and Melvin Cowdery and his wife Ethel of Van Nyes, California; a sister, Glenna Thomas and her husband Alvin of Hastings, Pennsylvania; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husbands, a brother, Everett Cowdery and two sisters, Helen Sowers and Wilma J. Frame, preceded her in death.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at 1:30 PM with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the church, officiating.
Burial will be in Jackman Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8
