Seaman, James S, 95, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Forest Hills Care Center, St. Clairsville.
He was born June 29, 1912, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late James S. and Lillie May Armstrong Seaman.
He was a member of Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery and worshipped at Calvary Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was ordained into the Gospel of Ministry of the Body of Christ, May 20, 1938 in Glenmoor, Ohio and retired June 30, 1977 in Zelienople, PA after 42 years of ministering in six churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. His desire was to bring as many to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Virginia Crawford Seaman, two brothers, William M. Seaman, Elwood A. Seaman, and a sister, Catherine Seaman.
Surviving are two sons: Craig Seaman of Wheat Ridge, CO, Wayne Seaman of Phoenix, AZ, two daughters: Leigh Redick of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Gwen Scales and her husband Henry of Lafferty, OH. Two sisters: Mae Seaman of Sheboygan, WI, and
Elizabeth Vernon Maxham of Edison, NJ. Six grandchildren: Kelly Osborne of Leadville, CO, Tammy Williamson of Denver, CO, Geoffrey Sheila Redick of Silver Spring, MD, Colin Redick of Washington D.C., Chris Robert Tomich of St. Clairsville, OH, Carol Scales of Lancaster, OH, eight great-grandchildren: Jared, Kyle and Ryan Osborne of Leadville, CO, Ace Williamson of Denver, CO, Robert, Matthew, and Tabitha Tomich of St. Clairsville, OH, and Lily Redick of Silver Spring, MD, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 10:00 am until the time of services at 1:30 pm at the Calvary Presbyterian Church, S. Marietta Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio with Rev. Laurie Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
