Regina Catherine Storch Griffith, 82, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Triadelphia, W.Va., daughter of the late John and Mary Bott Storch.
She was a retired registered nurse; a second lieutenant Army Corps Nurse from 1945-46, during World War II; a former public health nurse in Wetzel County, W.Va.; a former teacher at Wheeling Hospital Nursing School; and a former director of the Visiting Nurses; a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, where she was a member Christian Mothers; a member of Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Wheeling Hospital Auxiliary, Sisters of St. Joseph Auxiliary adn a former member of Oglebay and Wheeling Park’s Woman’s Golf Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sister Mary Lois S.S.J., Sister Regina Storch S.S.J., and Cecilia Frohnapfel.
Surviving are husband, whom she married Jan. 13, 1962, Charles Joseph Griffith; several nieces and nephews, including Mary Ann Newman of Wheeling, Betsy Masters of North Carolina, John Frohnapfel of Lancaster, Ohio, and Jerry Frohnapfel of Wheeling; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends received 6-8 p.m. Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling, with vigil service at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Interment in Our Lady of Seven Dolars Cemetery, Triadelphia, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph Foundation, 137 Mount St. Joseph Road or to St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.

Dear Uncle Chuck – I know Sandy has expresed our sympathy on behalf of our family, but since I can’t be there, I want add a personal note as well. I have many warm memories of good times shared with you and Aunt Regina and I will miss her a great deal. She was a great lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
