Virginia Beach – Raymond Logan Jacobs, Jr., 87 went to be with the Lord on Thursday December 18, 2008. Raymond was born in Broad Run, Virginia on September 3, 1921. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. Raymond retired after 42 years of service with C&P Telephone Co. He was an active member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church , and the Suburban Norfolk Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of Winchester Hiram Lodge # 21.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond L Jacobs, Sr. and Cecelia Owens Jacobs.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lula Heflin Jacobs; his daughter Vicki Mayfield and husband Bob of Chesapeake; his sons Raymond Allen Jacobs and wife Cynthia of Houston, TX and Marc Jacobs and wife Karen of Virginia Beach; his brothers Jim Jacobs and wife Nancy of Salem, VA and Shirley Jacobs and wife Ann of Bristol, TN; grandchildren Jessica Reed, Megan Barling , Robert Jacobs, Shelton Jacobs, Carolyn Mayfield , Rebecca Mayfield , Emily Jacobs and Annie Jacobs; great grandchildren Kyle, Mariah and Loreli.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday December 22, 2008 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach, VA . The family will receive friends after the service. Interment will take place on Tuesday December 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
