Grandpa, I will miss you so very much. You were a wonderful man that I looked up to through the years. I had a wonderful opportunity to work with you and put together a book on your time in the war, while working on the book, I learned so much about a time in your life before I was even born. I will cherish that time spent with you learning and I will cherish the book for ever. I know you are in a better place now with no pain for that I am so grateful, but I will miss you till the day I see you again. I love you Papa.

Grandpa, you’ve always been someone I admired and looked up to. A man of few words, but always kind and poking fun at us at every chance. You showed us how to be calm and steady and keep our sense of humor, even up to your last days. Your big smile and caring presence will be missed. Love you Grandpa.

He was my uncle-in-law x 38 yrs. He was a very kind, fun loving person. He welcomed me into the family with open arms and an open heart. I will NEVER forget his and Aunt Catherines trip to SC to see my and Ashley’s son Justin graduate 1998 and then again when he married 2005. At their age and health conditions they said it was NOT AN OPTION that they be there. Most people don’t take the time for family events, BUT THEY ALWAYS DID! I will never forget his smile and genuine love. Thank you God for letting me have the opportunity to be in his family.

I had meant to include my thoughts in the last post so I wanted to add them here: Uncle Raymond will always be remembered in my heart as a very funloving man. He always had a big heart and a bright smile. He loved to tell me jokes and then try to pass them off as the truth because he knew I was just the person to believe him. I usually caught on and he would laugh. He seemed to always have an interesting story to tell and we enjoyed listening. I will never forget his loving personality and his “Smile”. Uncle Raymond, until we meet again in Heaven; walk those streets of Gold until the day we are all joined again as a family in Heaven. I will love and miss you dearly. Rest in Peace!

I have known Raymond for 35+ years. He is my son-in-law’s Ashley Chadwick uncle. I have been around him at many family events at Daisey’shis mother-in-law in Lagrange, GA and at Colene’s Catherine’s sisterin theValley. I felt as though I was his and Catherine’s family. He always had such a sweet smile and a genuine “welcome here” when he greeted you. I will be praying for the family and Ms. Catherine.

I met Mr. Woodruff many years ago through Jane, my closest and dearest friend, and her family. What a wonderful man to have known in my lifetime. He always had a beautiful smile and a big heart. You will be missed by many. May you find peace and that great big garden you loved to watch grow.

I never had the honor to met the man that had such wonderful influence on my son-in-law Rich. I do know that he was loved beyond words. I was told he was funny and could make you laugh without trying. I know he loved his kids, I could hear it in Pat’s voice the last time we spoke. His love will not soon be forgotten for those who love him. May God bless you and yours and keep you safe forever. With love from the Rafferty family.

I’ll miss you more than anyone will ever know, Grandpa! I’m happy that you’re not hurting anymore. I just didn’t want to let you go. No one has ever influenced my life like you have. You have always been my hero.

My Grandfather was one of the most greatest guys. He was always kind to everyone he knew or even someone he just met on the streets. I am honored to be able to carry his name with me for the rest of my life. I wish I could have been around more though to be able to have spent more time with him. I know he is in a better place. I love you papa and will miss you very much

Our DAD was one of if not the greatest man on the face of the earth. He was there for any of us 24 hours a day , all we had to do was pick up the phone and call and he was like a genie , poof!.. he was there . I just dont think anyone could have ask for a better friend, father or grandfather . The last thing I would like to say is that a part of my Heart got torn away when OUR DAD passed away ,But I will continue to try and make him proud of me. and I would like to say thanks to all of you who have been a good friend to Our DAD…My Love To You Always DAD.

Raymond you will be surely missed! I know you have met some of your family on the other side and your body is well as when you were in your youth. One day we will meet again in Heaven! One of my fav memories of Raymond was a Christmas when my boys Anthony and Ashley were little. Raymond told them they had better go to bed as he had heard on the radio Santa Claus was near! Raymond rang those bells outside the window and Anthony thinking “Santa” was here took off running and dove into bed. Unfortunately, bumping his head on the headboard but all was ok. Raymond hated that he had scared the boys but it was surely a great laugh when thinking back on! Be at peace and to my sister Catherine, may you find peace from God during this hard time. I love you and all of my family there very much. May God bless you all!

The most wonderful Father in the world. He was loved by all who knew him. I will miss him for the rest of my life and pray that I will be worthy of seeing him in heaven.

This is in loving memory of my father. He was funny, kind, sweet, generous and very witty. It hurt me so much when he became ill and then to find out that he had cancer was the most devstating news I could have heard. I have missed him so very much that almost everyday I go to pick up the phone to call and talk with him, which is what I did everyday. I either talked with him or was over there with him. I am so glad that I had the last few years with him. We spent alot of time just talking or go to lunch, etc. I will never get over losing him, but at least I don’t have to sit helplessly and watch him suffer anymore. I want to thank all of yuu who signed the guest book. I can see that you all felt the same about him a s I did.

Dad, I will miss you more than you will ever know, but I know now that you are at least peace and I hope happy where you are.

Love and Miss You,

Your Oldest Favorite Daughter

Throughout all my life, uncle Raymond has always been there with a smile and a funny story. He was always deeply interested in what was gong on in my life and the others in my immediate family. At an advanced age of over 80, he and my aunt Catherine drove from Va. to Columbia, SC for my son’s College graduation and again there for his wedding. They demonstrated so much love in this manner. I was also amazed at the “young spirit” that he always carried with him. He will be long remembered in my heart and in the heart of the many others he touched. After all, “EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND”

We wanted to tell all of you our family how sorry we are at Uncle Raymonds passing. He truly lived a long and loved life. It made it even more precious that he passes with his family by his side. The grieving and then healing time will be what you have to work through now but I know he is watching over us all from Heaven and we sure have alot of our family that was there to meet him as he crossed over. That gives me peace. Know that we love you all and let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Much love, The Arabie and chadwick families.
