Ralph L. Stenger, 92, of Wheeling, died Monday, October 21, 2002 at his home.
He was born in Wheeling, Sept. 4, 1910, the son of the late William and Sadie Smith Stenger.
Ralph was the founder and former President of Stenger Business Systems, the former President of the Serra Club of Wheeling and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Kalkreuth Stenger and his second wife, Helen Gantzer, two sister; Gertrude Chison and Sara Burris.
Ralph is survived by three sisters; Ruth Yahn and her husband Harry of Wheeling, Blanche Naegele of Wheeling and Angela Deegan and her husband Richard of Florida, one brother, Father William Stenger of Wheeling, four sons; Ralph L. "Larry" Stenger Jr., and his wife Lynne of Houston, Texas, Richard J. Stenger and his wife Patricia of Waltham, MA, Thomas A. Stenger and his wife Penny of Wheeling, David A. Stenger and his wife Stacey of Herndon, VA., one daughter; Mary Ann Pierson and her husband Tres of Wheeling, 11 grandchildren, six stepchildren; Chris Hannig, David Gantzer and Judy Gornik all of Wheeling and Susan Costanzo, Bob Gantzer and Jay Gantzer all of Columbus, Ohio.
Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholich Church, with Fr. James Sobus and Fr. William Stenger concelebrants.
Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. Vigil services will be held Thursday 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Stenger’s passing. I always held him in high regard and enjoyed his easy-going manner during the brief time I worked for Stenger Business Systems. I feel the world is a lesser place without him.
