RALPH B. "BOX" HENDERSHOT, SR. 61 of West 23rd Street, Bellaire, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at his home.
He was born August 30, 1940 in Bellaire, a son of Bernadine McCabe Hendershot and the late Albert Hendershot.
Ralph was a retired coal miner and heavy equipment operator for the Shoemaker Mine; a Protestant by faith and a US Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Janice A. White Hendershot; one son, Ralph B. Hendershot, Jr. and his wife Lyn of Shadyside, Ohio; three daughters, Rhonda Hendershot of Martins Ferry; Cindy Hepe and her husband, Steve of Bellaire; and Frances Hendershot of Bellaire; his mother, Bernadine McCabe Hendershot of Bellaire; two stepsons, Theodore Grodhaus and his wife, Renee of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mike Groadhaus and his wife, Marti of Columbus; one sister, Beverly Ramsey and her husband, Bob of Mt. Olivet. Six grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441-37th Street, Bellaire, on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM where services will be held on Sunday at 2 PM with Pastor Donald J. Cordery officiating. Interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.
I wish to tell the family of Ralph Box Hendershot I am so sorry about the demise of a fine man. I knew Box sine the 50’s and knew him to be a wondeful person. I’m certain he will be missed by his family as well as his friends. May God grant him eternal light. Sorry I couldnt pay my respects but I was out of town.
