Phyllis Ann Hess, 83, of Moundsville, WV, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Moundview Nursing Home.
She was born January 3, 1932 in Moundsville, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Gertie Smith Truex.

Phyllis graduated from Moundsville High School, was retired from Rite Aid in Moundsville as a Pharmaceutical Tech with over 20 years of service and was a member of the Moundsville Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Victor E. Hess in 2013 and a sister, Diane Vandevander.

Surviving are her children; Victor R.Deanna Hess, of Moundsville, Deborah J. Brannan, of Wheeling, a brother, Ron L.Marilyn Truex, of Franklin, TN, and 3 grandchildren; Melissa Scott Sawinski, of McMechen, ATCS-USN Shane W. Mary Brannan, AD of Middleburg, FL, Bridget Brannan of Glendale, WV; 4 great grandchildren;
Amanda Matt St. John of Martins Ferry, OH, Lavon Steadman of Shadyside, OH, Blake Brannan 11 years old, of Middleburg, FL, Dakota Brannan17 years old of Glendale, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering and service on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00am with Pastor Ralph Green officiating, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Moundsville Baptist Church, 1911 Fourth St., Moundsville, WV or to the Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Dr., Moundsville, WV
