Conti, Philomena, 85, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Benwood, WV, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1922 in Benwood, a daughter of the late Mike and Anna Rosa Renzella Epifano. Mrs. Conti was a homemaker, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Wheeling, and a former member of the St. John’s Rosary Altar Society, Benwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luigi Conti; a sister, Lenora DeGasperis.
Surviving are three sons, Natale “Nick” Marcella Conti, Rudolph “Rudy” Conti, all of Wheeling, and Thomas Tomisina Conti of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Anna Rose Avery of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Albert Mary Jean Epifano of Glen Dale, WV; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one nephew and three nieces.
Friends received 11-8 pm Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
