DETEMPLE, Pauline V. Huff, of Marshall Street, McMechen, went to her Savior, Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital. She was 76.
Pauline was born May 3, 1925, in Bethany, W.Va., daughter of the late John and Inez Scott Huff.
She was a retired assembly line worker from the former Louis Marx Toy Company for 25 years; a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen; American Legion Post 46 Ladies Auxiliary; the A.A.R.P.; and the Moundsville Eagles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. DeTemple, Sr.
Surviving are a son, Robert J. DeTemple, Jr. and Dolores, of Benwood; two daughters, Paula J. Stamper and her husband, Larry, of McMechen, and Veronica ”Bonny” DeTemple and Sam, of McMechen; five sisters, Shirley Oakes of Follansbee, W.Va., Evelyn Johnson of Weirton, W.Va., Rachel Reed of Glenville, W.Va., Nancy Huff of Bethany, W.Va., and Jessica Hill of Durango, Colo.; five grandchildren, Claudette M. Cuskey, Shannon R. Littell, Maddeline V. Stamper, Katherine V. Stamper, and Austin R. Littell; and several nephews and nieces.
Friends received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St., McMechen.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gervase Cain, T.O.R. as celebrant. Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery, Bethany.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. James Catholic Church, 326 Logan St., McMechen, WV 26040.
