PEKULA, Pauline P. Jacobs, 85, of 601 Main St., Wheeling, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. She was born June 30, 1917, in Ohio County, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Magenski Jacobs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Pekula; a sister, Helen LePore; two brothers, John and Edward Jacobs. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis F. Bland of Wheeling, and Mrs. Ted Betty A. Fortney of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, James V. Naomi Pekula of Moundsville, and Stanley E. Bonnie Pekula of Warwood; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Condron as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Youth Fund.
