OBITUARY NOTICE

Paul N. Seckman
Age 85

Paul N. Seckman 85, passed away at home on Thursday morning, September 12, 2013.
He was born in East Liverpool, OH on September 11, 1928, a son of the late Naaman and Goldie Bennett Seckman.

Mr. Seckman had formerly owned and operated Presswell Dry Cleaners in Calcutta for over forty years. He was also the developer and builder of multiple homes in Old Farm Village where neighbors affectionately referred to him as “The Mayor”. He was a 1946 graduate of East Liverpool High School and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he was presently serving as a Trustee. He belonged to East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258, Calcutta Rotary, East Liverpool Jaycees, was a past chairman of United Way of Southern Columbiana County and past president of Calcutta Chamber of Commerce. He also served as past president of Ohio Dry Cleaners Association. As an avid horse lover from a young age, Paul taught many area children how to ride and served as a judge for American Horse Show Association.

His wife of over sixty years, Eileen D. Coakley Seckman survives him at home. They were married April 13, 1952.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula Chamberlain of Calcutta and Lori Nocella and her husband, John of Pittsburgh, PA and 3 grandchildren, Chad Wilkinson of Calcutta, OH, Jack Nocella and Ava Nocella of Pittsburgh, PA. Paul, who was known as “Pappy” his to his three grandkids, cherished the time he spent with them and his loved ones.

Along with his parents, a brother, Herman Seckman and a sister June Laughlin preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin Maclean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Stephen Cramer of the church, officiating.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta today, Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and tomorrow from 10:00 AM up until the time of the service at Noon.

Following the services on Saturday, family and friends will gather for food and fellowship at Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or Valley Hospice

You have my ondolences Paula and your mom and sister. Your dad was agreat guyhe was like a father to me years ago. I remeber when your parents had the dry cleaning business in Pleasant Heightrs and dyou was my first girlfriend to give a valentime too hope you remmber but you probly dont I cant come tot he funeral home because I am in Adkins Care Center so please accept my condolenced and I will get in touch with you later
