Paul C. Maas, 96, of Benwood Hill Road, Benwood, WV, died Sunday, August 12, 2001, at home.
He was a retired moulder from the former Beans Foundry, Martins Ferry and a part time farmer; and a member of the Church of Christ, McMechen.
He was born April 12, 1905, in Germany, son of the late Johannes and Kathrina Maas; he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hodgson Maas, in 1995; a son, Paul C. Maas Jr.; and a brother, Walter Maas.
Surviving are two sons, Walter J. Maas and his wife, Karen, of Moundsville and Herman R. Maas and his wife, Carolyn, of Benwood Hill; four grandchildren, John C. Maas of Moundsville, Kathrine A. Key and her husband, Brian of Columbus, Ohio, Richard G. Maas and his wife, Jennifer, and Daniel E. Maas, all of Benwood Hill; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn E. Key and Tyler S. Key, both of Columbus.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall St., McMechen, where services will be held at 11am Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, with Evangelist Bill Carroll officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
