Paul B. Futey, Sr., 76, of Wheeling, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at home.
He served in the U.S. Navy, World War II, on the USS San Jacinto CVL-30. He was a retired policeman, having served on the Wheeling Police Department for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica Futey, and many brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Blust Futey; a daughter, Paulette Couch of Norcross, GA; five sons, Wade B. Futey of Weirton, Timothy J. Futey, Phillip L. Futey and Paul B. Futey, Jr., all of Wheeling, and Senior Airman Andrew G. Futey of USAF – Fort Eustis, VA; five sisters, Ann Tomlinson, Mary Ward, Margaret Chute, Jenny Fornal, and Elizabeth Keylor; seven grandchildren, Meggan Dodge of Wheeling, Haley and Colin Couch, both of Georgia, Caleb Futey of Weirton, Brooke, Ashley and Paige Futey, all of Wheeling.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2002, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove. Vigil service will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Jim Sobus as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
