Norfolk – Pasquale Louis Giudice, 89, former long-term resident of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on December 14, 2008 at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. Mr. Giudice retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service. He also served in the U.S. Customs Service for 15 years. Mr. Giudice was the recipient of the Legion of Honor, awarded by France for his participation in the Normandy landing during World War II. He was a member of the Sons of Italy of Norfolk and Virginia Beach and the NAS New York Floyd Bennett Field Reunion Committee.
Mr. Giudice was predeceased by his wife Celestine. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Giudice of Paris, France, and Dr. Linda Giudice and her husband Dr. Athanasios Theologis of Los Altos Hills, Ca., and two grandchildren Alexander and Aris Theologis.
A funeral mass of resurrection will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 11am in the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base Catholic Chapel with Rev. William R. Dermott officiating. The family will receive friends at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach on Wednesday, December 17th from 7pm to 9pm. All non-military personnel must register with the funeral home at 757422-4000 24 hours ahead of the Catholic mass on the Amphibious Base in order to be permitted on the base. All attending services must enter the base through Gate 3.
