Norman E. Lyons
Norman E. Lyons 74, of Main Street, Wellsville, Ohio died at home on Friday, June 7, 2002 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on January 27, 1928 and was the son of the late Allen Anderson Lyons and Cleopatra Saunders Lyons.
Living his entire life in the area, Mr. Lyons worked as a postman for the US Postal Service, delivering mail in Wellsville, a signalman for the Pennsylvania Railroad and at HK Porter as a hacker. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1947 and attended Sheridan AME Church in East Liverpool and Lee’s Chapel AME in Wellsville. Mr. Lyons was a member of the John Washington Masonic Lodge #942 in East Liverpool and Bezaleel Consistory of Cleveland – 32 degree.
He is survived by two daughters: Carla Lyons Watson of Newark, OH and Lora Lyons Browne of Hawthorne, CA; one brother: Raymond Allen Lyons of Washington, DC; one sister: Leota Arlene Newman of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson and a great grandson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Spring Hill Cemetery.
