Obituary for:
Norman C. Delaney
Age: 92

Norman C. Delaney, 92, formerly of Williams Avenue, East Liverpool, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, OH on Saturday, May 24, 2008 following a sudden illness. He was born in Midland, PA on October 8, 1915, a son of the late Oza Cosmo and Cora Cochran Wasson Delaney. .

Living most of his life in this area, he moved to Blue Rock, OH in 2004. Before his retirement in 1980, Mr. Delaney worked at the former Crucible Steel Mill in the Cold Strip for 34 years and was an avid member of the Cantaur RC Model Airplane Club.

His loving wife of 47 years, Fay L. Carnes Delaney, died on April 6, 2004.

One son: David A Delaney and his wife, Mary of Blue Rock, OH; one daughter: Norma S. Dukelow and her husband Bret J. of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren: Brandy Harman of Dallas, TX, Kelly Stoddard of Winston-Salem, NC, David A Delaney, II of Newport News, VA, Christa Delaney of East Liverpool, OH, David A Barckhoff of Conneaut, OH and Dana Barckhoff of Lancaster, OH as well as two nieces: Cindy Davis and her husband Gary of Chester, WV and Susan Spear and her husband Bruce of Littleton, CO survive him.

Besides his parents and wife, a daughter, Debra J. Stoddard; two brothers: Ethel Bert Delaney and Ronald Delaney as well as one sister: Doris Jackson preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1:30 PM with Rev. William Betteridge of Riverside Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
