Norma Jean Core, 92, of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday September 26, 2013 at the Shadyside Care Center.
She was born March 30, 1921 in Sistersville, WV., a daughter of the late Ross and Geraldine Richards Collins.
Norma Jean was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church of Shadyside.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Core, Sr., her son Howard Core Jr., a grandson Rob Core, a brother Paul Kifer and a sister Joann Kifer.
Surviving is a son Tom Core of Shadyside; two daughters, Deborah Core of Richmond, KY, and Carol Kevin Stryker of Wheeling, WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter; her cousin Evelyn Lady and special friends, the Mellott family.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12 noon until time of service at 2 pm at the First Christian Church of Shadyside with Pastor Eric White officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, OH at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to express its deep appreciation to the caregivers at Valley Hospice and Shadyside Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to First Christian Church of Shadyside or Valley Hospice.

So hard to believe that all the “moms” from Short Street are all together again. Just imagine the conversations they are having. I’m sure Sue had coffee ready.
