A dear lady and friend, A GS salute to you Norma, we had a few laughs and shared a few stories. Be at peace and rest well. I will shed my tears at your passing. I will smile at your memory. With love as always,

Although I have not known Norma very long, by all accounts she was a wonderful person. She will be dearly missed by all of us “Sockees”.

Although I have spent quite a long while lurking from the group, due to some horrible things happening in RL, I did have Norma as a Christmas card swap partner, I will always hold dear to my heart the letter and little pressie she sent with it, a good sockee who will be greatly missed
As fellow members of the GSOLFOT club, we were on the same wavelength, so it feels as if part of me has gone missing.
Norma made a miniature trunk for me in a swap, and was a delight to ‘chat’ to via email.
She will be missed, and my thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.
God Bless, Norma.
With my love, Anji and those pesky Gsolfot penguins.
Aunty Norma,
I was just thinking about you today. Not a week goes by where I don’t tell someone a story about you. Thinking of you always makes me smile. I miss you very much.
Love, Carrie Ann
Dear Norma-AKA Keeper Of The Clothesline. I just heard the sad news of your passing.I can’t believe it. We at GSOLFOT are going to miss you so very much. Have you taught them all in Heaven how to do the furkel yet? Wonder if God would like to wear a green sock too. Norma, for your dear family – May the care of friends bring you comfort and loving memories heal your heart. Sharing in your sorrow with love & friendship.
Dearest Norma, you will surely be missed by all of us left behind. The insanity level of heaven has been now been raised, and your wonderful sense of humour is spilling down on us still. Good journey good Sockee Buddy.
For Norma, I sure am going to miss you! Although we never met in person, as a member of the miniature group, GSOLFOT, we all felt like family. You were always an inspiration to us all, and you will continue to be forever. Lou!GSOLFOT
From a GSOLFOT friend..Norma will be missed as one who shared in our foolishness and our seriousness…
Grandad David and I will always remember you are we see you in your picture, happy and full of life.
While you have the friendship of the Sockees you will never be forgotten.
Happy Birthday!!!! We all miss you.
I am husband to Kathy Thomas, keeper of the secrets. I’m sorry that I didn’t know you. I see and feel the great void in Kathy with your passing. You could only have that effect by being close and a big part of her and that of GSOLFOT. You will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear the sad news of Norma’s passing. She was a wonderful, sweet woman and will be sadly missed. My fondest memory of her is watching her run after the customers at the lunch counter in the train show to get their little blue cap liners for me to use as plates. What a giving person….I hope she gets to know my sweet daughter Jami up in Heaven….
I’m one of the newer members of the Green Socks. I am so sorry to hear that Norma has passed away. We can’t see her now but I am sure she can see us. We share a sorrow for her passing but also a joy that she was here. What she shared with other people during her lifetime is in turn shared and passed on by them to others.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am the counselor at Lindenwood. She truly touched the hearts and lives of our students. She made a difference. As I told the classes, so many of the students remembered the many “healing” things she did for them from bandaids & meds, to knitted bands. Her favorite cure was ICE! We shared a lot of stories which I will always treasure.
My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Norma I will always remember you with a fondness,I will miss you terribly and my deepest thoughts are with your family .XXX
stay forever green

She will be smiling to see the GSOLFOT are still thinking of her and signing her final guestbook, as she signed so many of our books when looking through the mini world. Norma was our keeper of the clothesline – I spent today re-reading her postings and admiring her humor. She is sorely missed already by so many around the world. Dear Norma – may you always play in the castle – I will look for you in the halls. I will always treasure having shared this with you.
Norma was so kind and sweet to me, so supportive in a time of trouble. As a sister sockee and fellow miniaturist, she was so wonderful, talented, and sharing. She was with us for too short of a time. God bless you, Norma, and your family.
Norma will be greatly missed by her many friends and “family” from GSOLFOT. She brought joy to our lives and will be remembered with love.

Norma wrote this poem in 1994
I thought everyone would enjoy her words.
Norma’s Prayer
Take my body Lord to do what you propose
Take my emotional scars Lord and change them to spiritual praise
Lord, take my tears and turn then into country dancing
Take my hurt feet and turn them into prancing
Take my home Lord to show off your unending love
Take my gardens to spread your random kindness from above
Take my anger and turn it into creativity
Take my grief Lor and make int a brievity
Take my excess fat and give it to someone who needs it
Take my experiences and wisdom and pass it to those who will heed it
And my pain into gain again Lord
My incontinence, take it and make me dry
My swearing Lord take, Godly words my mouth should fly
My smoking take the joy of it Lord before my lungs have a fit
Take my Love Lord and make it not hurt but glow
and my friendships rooted like flowers grow
Take my broken heart Lord to hold ever in your habds
Take my trust Lord in marriage and love and pass it onto man
Take my faults and sturdy strength buid
take my handicaps Lord and make into possibilities filled
Take my sorrow and turn it into bliss and joy
Take my child, my son, Lord into spirtual manhood from immature boy
Take my family Lord and heal their hurt and sorrow unite them in your love for today and tommorrow
Take my deafness Lord and hearing you I’ll see
Take my signing hands learning, signing for thee, communicating in a silent world, if that your choice should be
Take care of my heavenly children Lord, I know they “the three” are blessed in your arms
And take my life Lord to do as you will in your heavenly palms
Take my ugliness Lord and set my beauty free
Take my nursing skills and comfort bring from suffering to flee
Take my hopes and dreams Lord, my failures and my successes a a human being and woman I accept and confess as
Lord take me all the good and the bad because you made me
I should rejoice and be glad
Amen
PS- Take my books and all my collections to use for cherisded moments of this world in your inspiring refections

Reading the tributes just confirmed how Norma’s life touched many people in different circumstances. She will be missed by all our GSOLFOT family.
Sad news indeed. I grew to know Norma through our shared love of both miniatures and of adopted fur-babies. She was a good sockee, miniaturist, fur-friend and person. She was loved and will be missed by many – and I guess that’s all that any of us can really hope for.
So sorry to hear of Norma’s passing.
We will all miss her in Green Sock Land.
Such a kind, warm and friendly person. Norma would do whatever she could to help out. She will be missed dearly.

The last time I saw Norma was a few years back at the VFW. An emergency request for someone who knew CPR was announced so I went back to help. Much to my surprise, and relief, there was Norma already applying resuscitation. With her nursing background, she was the better person to assist than I. May God bless her and her family.
