GHAPHERY, Nimnoom A. George "Nim," 85, of Wheeling, WV, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at home. She was born May 18, 1918 in Waterville, Maine, a daughter of the late Simon and Latiffy Awad George. She was a life long and devoted member of Our Lady of Lebanon Parish, Wheeling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas A. Ghaphery; three sisters, Amelia Azar, Emma Peters and Rita John; and a brother, Thomas George. Surviving are four children, Evelyn Ghaphery of Wheeling, Dr. A.D. Ghaphery and his wife, Judy, of Wheeling, Juliette Breit of Pittsburgh, PA and Nicholas A. Ghaphery of Wheeling; a brother, Elias George and his wife, Gabrielle, of Waterville, Maine; six grandsons, Dr. Nick Ghaphery and his wife, Deanna and Dr. David A. Ghaphery and his wife, Kimberly, all of Wheeling, Keith A. Ghaphery and his wife, Melissa, of Columbus, OH, Brian A. Ghaphery, Esq. and his wife, Christina, of Wheeling, Curtis P. Breit of Silver Spring, MD. and Michael N. Breit and his wife, Nicole, of Wilmington, NC; 10 great-grandchildren, Megan, Aldon, Bryce, Chaz, Austin, Selena, Cara and Owen Ghaphery and Julianna and William Ganter Breit; nieces and nephews of the Azar, George, Peters, and John families; cousins of the George and John families; Tony Nasr of Methuen Mass.; and a family member, Herman Cohen of Pittsburgh, PA. Friends received 2-9 pm Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV, where Rosary Recitation and vigil services will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Wheeling with the Rev. Bakhos Chidiac as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.

DEAR DR. GAPHERY,

I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING MY MOTHER, TERESA FERRERA, WITH A VISIT AND A MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER.

IT MEANT SO MUCH FOR YOU TO TAKE TIME FROM YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE.

AND MY CONDOLENCES FOR THE PASSING OF YOUR MOTHER. MY SISTER-IN-LAW BECKY JOSEPH FERRERA SPOKE MOST HIGHLY OF HER AND YOUR FAMILY.

I WAS A CLOSE FRIEND OF TONY NASAR. WE RAN AROUND IN A GROUP BEFORE HE GOT MARRIED AND MOVED. HE IS A GENUINELY BEAUTIFUL PERSON ALSO.

I was saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

This was God’s plan for her to now be at peace with her soul mate.
