Dear Devon and Hayden, Mr. and Mrs. Norris and family,

JR best known by Nate’ as Jir and I have so many fond memories of Nate’ especially while at Virginia Tech, where she was my dear friend and roomate. This is so silly, but I think of Nate’ every time I pluck my eyebrows…she taught me this great trick to spray hairspray on the eyebrow brush to keep them in place : This is just one of many fond and frequent memories that I have of my friendship with her. She was truly a gem of a person. We are so truly shocked and deeply sorry to hear of her passing. Nate’ always spoke with such heartfelt love about her family, and we know that she took comfort and gained strength by having such a loving and supportive family around her during her battle. We will always remember Nate’s signature and hearty laugh, warm smile, and her fearless and passionate spirit for life. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Pence Family,

I just wanted to express my condolences for the death of your loved one, Nate’ M. Pence. Please know that you are not alone. All of us have experienced the pain of losing a dear loved one in death. It is at such times that we may wonder how we can possibly cope. IâÄôm sure you would agree that the Bible can be of great help. Psalm 55:22 says: “Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, And he himself will sustain you.” So we can pour out our feelings to God who comforts us in all our distresses and promises to help us endure. The Bible further discusses some practical coping skills such as, talking to a trusted friend about your feelings Proverbs 17:17, writing down your feelings as David did following the death of Saul and Jonathan 2 Samuel 1:17-27, and crying which can serve as an emotional release. Even Jesus Christ-when he was on the earth-âÄúgave way to tearsâÄù over the death of his dear friend Lazarus John 11:33, 35. Please know that death is not the end and it sure was not God’s original purpose for humans to die. God purposed that humans live forever on a paradise earth and soon that will be a reality by means of GodâÄôs Kingdom. I hope you have found these words to be of some encouragement. Again, you have my deepest sympathy.

Devon, Hayden and Family,

Words can not express what a wonderful lady that Naté was. She brought so much to many of us. Her laughter was uplifting and great to hear. She worked hard for Cargill but she also gave so much to family and friends. We really missed all her little jokes like calendar reminders that she worked harder than Mike. I still laugh at the eagle statue that went everywhere and the VT bear that she thought got cut up. Our prayers are with all of Naté family and friends and that she is uplifted to be with the Lord.

I was Natés last supervisor at Cargill. I never got to know her very well, but I knew she would be very good for our department. She would definitely raise up the standard of performance for all of us. I missed her all this year as she struggled to keep working throughout her battle. Please allow me to share your sorrow and loss.

To the Pence and Norris Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter, wife and your friend. I shared many junior high, high school and college memories with Nate’. My deepest condolences go out to you. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Nate’ was a wonderful person and she lit up the lives of those around her. Whether it was her being silly and driving through the drive thru various times just to order and leave without paying or just being around her and hanging out for a relaxing day of catch up. Nate’ will be dearly missed!

Love,

Heather, David and McKenna Wilson
