Nancy Lee ”Joy” Rhodes

Age 69

Nancy Lee Joy Rhodes 69 of Regal Avenue, Canton, Ohio died Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at Canton-Altman Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Wellsville, Ohio on January 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Charles ”Hoop” Joy, Sr. and Martha H. McElfresh Joy.

Mrs. Rhodes lived in Canton most of her life and retired in 1980 from the E & M. Bair Machine Company where she worked as an operator. She attended the Church of Christ on 38th Street in Canton, taught Sunday School at the Salineville Church of Christ in the 1950’s and enjoyed baking and giving her baked goods to friends and relatives.

Her husband, Kenneth K. Rhodes, Sr, whom she married in 1947, died in 1986.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Rhodes, Jr. of Denver, Colorado; a

daughter, Audrey Victoria Moore of Canton; 3 sisters, Donna O’Rourke of Parris, Tennessee, Mary Tice of Irondale, Ohio, Pat Chester of Pasadena, Texas;

8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a 4 brothers, Jack Joy, Earl Joy, Larry Joy and Jim Joy; 2 sisters, Clara Joy and Gladys Joy; 1 great-grandson, Daniel Gene Rhodes.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 1:30 PM with

Mr. Alan Boone, area supply pastor, officiating

Friends may call at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the funeral on Saturday, November 24, 2001

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
