Norfolk–

Nancy Bourne Skeen, 65, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 29, 1942 in Richmond, VA to the late Russell and Anne Bourne. Nancy was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making cookies with them. Nancy also enjoyed knitting, collecting teapots and was an avid reader; there were never enough books. She was predeceased by her dear husband of 46 years, Tommy Lee Skeen, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Tommy Lee Skeen, Jr.; 2 daughters, June Adcock and husband Mark of Southampton Co., and Sandy Schechter and husband Rick of Norfolk; brother Russell Bourne and wife Nancy of FL; sisters Becky Raynor of NC, and Debbie Sibley and husband John of Rockville; brother-in-law Dickie Skeen and wife Nancy of Norfolk; sister-in-law Kaye Beaver of Roanoke; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Kristina, Taylor, Haley, Kaitlyn, and Jack; and 1 great grandchild, Mark.

A visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road Chapel Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM with a memorial service to follow at 2:00PM. Condolences may be made to the family online at altmeyer.com

Sorry to hear about your loss. You are in my prayers! I remember the glow and warm smile every time you talked about your mother ;and when you were on your way to go see her.

You have been a great daugther and friend to your mother.You were always there for her and looked out for her.May God reward you for your loyality to your mother!

May God give you and the rest of your brothers adn sisters strength ,love,hope, and mercy during theses times.

Again , My thoughts and prayer are with you all and I am here if you need me.

Your mom was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known.She was always so very kind to me.I wish I could be there today just to hold your hands and offer support.I hope your beautiful memories of her bring you both strength ,comfort ,and peace today and always.She will always be with you in your heart.If there is anything you need or want ,please call on me.
