Myrtle Maxine Shilot

Age 73

Myrtle Maxine Shilot 73, of Parshall Street, Wellsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at her home.

She was born in Omar, West Virginia on April 26, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Troy Hadis Bragg and Agnes Hobbs Bragg.

Mrs. Shilot has lived in the area since 1977 and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was a very active member of the Church of God in East Liverpool for over 50 years and was considered a pillar of the church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Elwood Shilot, whom she married August 18, 1945.

3 daughters; Margaret A. MargeVanDyke and her husband Tom of San Diego, Geraldine Jerri Johnson and her husband Tom of Wellsville, OH

Connie S. Spiroff and her husband Tim of East Liverpool, OH

4 brothers; Dallas Bragg of Wheelersburg, OH

Robert Bragg of Gahanna, OH

Laymon Elwood Bragg of Eastern, KY

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James A. Bragg and a sister, Betty J. Jones.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, August 31, 2001 at 1:00 PM, with Mrs. Shilot’s brother-in-law, Pastor Darrell Jones, retired and her son, Rev. Sam Shilot officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will be present at the funeral home in Calcutta to receive friends on Thursday, August 30, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Friday up until the time of the service.
