Modene Moore,93,of Virginia Beach,Virginia died on February 4, 2001 in Bayside Healthcare Nursing Home.
Born in Texas City, Illinois, she was a retired self-employed arts and crafts hobbyists.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale, Illinois, the A.A.R.P. and the Order of the Eastern Star in Carbondale, Illinois.
Modene Moore was known throughout Southern Illinois for her arts and crafts, particularly for her pine cone wreaths, one of which was on display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., as part of their exhibit of crafts of the Midwest. Another of her wreaths is on display in the dining area of the Giant City State Park Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Norman E. Moore of Virginia Beach; a son,Captain Robert W. ”Bob” Moore and his wife, Connie, of Virginia Beach;Three grandchildren, Terry, Becky and Melissa; two great-grandchildren,Katie and Christie; two sisters,Virginia Melton of Harrisburg, Illinois and Fern Stout of Eldorado, Illinois.She was predeceased by three brothers.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 1:00pm in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
