Miriam Christine Brindel, 89, went home to be with our Lord, Sunday, December 02, 2001 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1977. She moved to Virginia Beach in 1997 to be near her family. She was a member of Dormont Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star, and enjoyed travel, church activities, family and friends.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Donna Brindel of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandson and his wife, Jason and Alyssa Brindel of Raleigh, NC; and nieces Sue Stewart and Nancy Carr of Pittsburgh, PA.
Private funeral arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home Virginia Beach Chapel, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA.
The family request donations in lieu of flowers in Miriam’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Society, Dormont Presbyterian Church or the Gideons International.
