LIPINSKI, Mildred M. Midge, 73, of Sunset Lane, Glen Dale, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at her home surrounded by all her family after a three year battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1928, in McMechen, a daughter of Emma V. Logston Haythorn of Glen Dale and Florida and the late Frank Haythorn. She was a retired cook at John Marshall High School and was a member of the Glen Dale United Methodist Church. She participated in the Marshall County Farmer’s Market; was a volunteer for the John Marshall After-Prom party and was an avid fan of John Marshall football. Midge was a devoted wife, loving mother and a perfect grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Haythorn. Surviving in addition to her mother is her beloved husband of 53 years, Edmond Lipinski; two sons, Richard E. Lipinski of Benwood and Stanley W. Lipinski and his wife Jennifer of Glen Dale; a daughter, Deborah M. Glover and her husband, Barry of Franklin, WV; a brother, Dr. William Haythorn and his wife Wiona B. of Chiefland, FL; a sister, Ginny Lorentz and her husband, Bill of Satsuma, FL; a sister-in-law, Gilda Haythorn of Brunswick, GA; two grandsons, Eric Lipinski and his wife, Lori of Glen Dale and Brad Glover of Franklin, WV; seven granddaughters, Julie Halliday and her husband, Bobby of Orange Park, FL, Stacie Glover of McMechen, Jessica Lipinski of Charlotte, N.C., Lauren Ann Lipinski of West Liberty, WV, Jillian Glover of Franklin, WV and Ashely and Brooke Lipinski, both of Glen Dale. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Russell Logston and Rev. John Lepp officiating. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 98 B East Cove Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003.

Midge’s heart, like her home, was open to all who knew her–a warm hug for a child; an encouraging word for a teen; a smiley hello for us all; and, of course, the delicious fudge, so lovingly made, at Halloween. We will miss her.
