JOSEPH, Michael J. Jr., 55 of Bethany Pike, Wheeling, died Friday, June 8, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Waukegan, Ill, on July 19, 1945, a son of Dr. Michael J. Joseph of Wheeling and the late Nellie McIlvain Joseph.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Lenore Retzer Joseph, in 1995.

He was a graduate of Linsly Military Institute and earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from West Liberty State College. He was a former Quality Controller at Centre Foundry in Wheeling and Imperial Glass in Bellaire. He was currently the vice president of Ohio Valley Window Company in Wheeling. He was an active member of the Greggsville United Methodist Church and an avid scuba diver.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Dr. W. Patrick Joseph and his wife, June, of Calif.; a stepbrother, Parker Clark of California; a nephew, Patrick Joseph; a niece, Juliana Joseph; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Friends will be received on Sunday from noon-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove. Friends will then be received on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Road, Wheeling, with the Revs. William DeMoss and Deborah Dague officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
