Another year has come and gone, and I still find myself thinking of you. This helps to ease the pain by writing things in here and talking to you. I know that you hear me. I’m sure you were in everyones hearts and thoughts thru the holidays. You were in mine and Michael’s. Well got to go, need to fix dinner since dad is coming over and then later Michael when he gets off work. Will talk at ya soon. x0x0x0x0x0x

Dear Amos & Linda,

I am so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. From reading the obituary it sounds like he grew up to be a wonderful, caring man. I remember when I used to stay with them after school until you got home from work. He, Joe and Melissa were certainly full of energy!! You all are in my prayers.

Hi Melissa, I’m an intuitive Medium who helps families who are healing from grief, connect with their loved ones in Spirit, by sharing messages of Hope. I recently watched your inspiring weight loss journey on ABC. At the end of the show in your big reveal, when Heidi asked you … “What do you think Mike would say if he could see you right now?” I received a message from him to share and here it is ..

“I love you baby. You were able to accomplish what I couldn’t – “overcome” …

I wish you all the best in your continuing journey and raising awareness for PTSD. I am currently on a weight loss journey myself, needing to lose 50lbs which I struggle with daily, but, I’ve kept your episode and watch it when I need inspiration to keep going.

Many blessings to you and your children.

With Love and Light .. Sue Berard

I am at a great loss of words to express my feels over the loss of Michael. I talked with Michael last Sunday just before departing home after a long drill weekend. Michael and I serve in the US Army Reserves FSC 463rd Eng BN. I am his First Sergeant. My thoughts of Michael are of caring and generosity. He has always thought of others before of himself. It is of a great loss knowing that he is not with us anymore, I will greatly miss him. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this time of great loss. We will greatly miss you Michael.

I never met Michael Angelo Karkowski, but he was the husband of one of my best friends for last 18 years. when we talked, she spoke of his love and care. I knew from Melissa’s voice that he was a good father, kind husband and above all a family man.

I wish that I had the chance to meet him.

RIP Mike.

I wanted to share this poem with everyone and wish all of you a Merry Christmas. To my dearest family, some things I’d like to say…

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I’m writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.

Here, there’s no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.

Remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

God picked me up and hugged me and He said, “I welcome you.”

It’s good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.

I need you here badly; you’re part of my plan.

There’s so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day’s chores put to flight.

God and I are closest to you….in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.

But if I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o’er.

I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;

but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too…

that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who’s in sorrow and pain,

then you can say to God at night……”My day was not in vain.”

And now I am contented….that my life has been worthwhile,

knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

When you’re walking down the street, and you’ve got me on your mind;

I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it’s time for you to go…. from that body to be free,

remember you’re not going…..you’re coming here to me.

My thoughts are with you during your time of tragic loss. I do not understand why such things happen. I haven’t been able to get your family off my mind today and I don’t even know you. But I know the shock and the gap that has been left in your family must be devastating and I pray for strength and love for you.
