I’m in shock to hear about Mike. He was one of my best friends. Just the other day I was looking at some photos of when we were out hiking in the Blue Ridge Mt’s. over Thanksging, in the mid-70’s. We got snowed in bad.

I first met Mike in high school where we both played trombone in the band. We spent so much time together, weekends, where we were always at his parents eating his moms lasagna, playing trombones, playing football, in weddings together, what a wonderful guy!!!. What a wonderful time it was for me. My family life wasn’t the best and he and his family were always, always there for me. We went to the beach, down to Lee’s and played pool, surfing down at Hatteras, riding in his Corvair, we use to live together when i got out of the army, use to pour out our feelings to each other, heartbreaks, whatever,… he was always there to listen, and to give advice, and he was very unselfish. Always, with that grin, and laugh. We both bought Honda motorcycles and would ride all over. He was always the best friend a person could have… none better.

I’m sitting here in tears and don’t know what to say. I truly loved Mike. He brought so much happiness to my life. Now all I have left are all the wonderful memories. I miss him…

My blessing and prayers are with all of his family. I met Mike when he use to pick Vicky up from Gymnastics practise. We use to tease him about the Corvair, of course we had one too but I never drove it around him. I went with Steve Tignor back then and we use to run into Mike at the beach all the time. Great memories of both Mike and Vicky. I know he will be missed as he was a great person then who left an impact on those who know him….Kathy in San Diego since 1977.
