WALLACE, Meryle L. Barton, 75, of Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. Meryle was born June 4, 1927 in Wheeling, daughter of the late William B. and Jessie E. Beatty Barton. She was a retired nursing assistant for Ohio Valley Medical Center with 20 years of service and a Protestant by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford W. Wallace, in 1989; a daughter, Janet Green; a son, William Wallace Sr.; two sisters, Cleon Mitchell and Barbara Cottrell; and a brother, William B. Barton Jr. Surviving are a son, Willie Wallace Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Wheeling; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, with the Rev. Glen Baker Jr. officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

TO WILLIE AND FAMILY,

I WAS DEEPLY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR MOM. I HAVE MANY FOND AND FUN MEMORIES WITH HER AND WILL MISS HER ALOT. WE STILL CORRESPONDED DURING THE HOLIDAYS, IN FACT, I RECEIVED A CHRISTMAS CARD FROM HER THURSDAY. I AM SO SORRY THAT I CAN’T BE THERE IN PERSON TO EXPRESS MY CONDOLANCES, BUT I HAVE MICHELLE’S BABY HERE AND I COULDN’T MAKE IT. I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE IF I COULD HAVE.
