MELTON O. CRANE, JR

AGE: 59

Melton O. Crane, Jr. , 59 of Annesley Rd. died Saturday December 8, 2001 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Industry, Pa. He was the son of the late Melton O. Crane, Sr. and Fay Evelyn Campbell Crane.

A lifelong resident of Calcutta, Mr. Crane was maintenance supervisor for The Insul Co. of East Palestine, Ohio for 34 years, retiring November 2001. He was an avid CB’er and an avid bowler.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years , Marlene R. Black, whom he married on November 24, 1961. He is also survived by 2 sons, James M. Crane and his wife Teresa, of East Liverpool, Michael A. Crane and his wife Deborah of Wellsville and a daughter, Kimberlee S. Springer and her husband Syd; 2 brothers Benjamin Sam Crane of East Liverpool and Kenneth Crane of Columbiana. Mr. Crane has 8 Grandchildren, Shawn Crane of Wellsville, Megan Crane of East Liverpool, Allyson Crane of Columbus, Richard Kevin Beagle, Erin Beagle, Kaleena Crane, Jordan Simpson and Mikayla Crane all of Wellsville.

Besides his parents Mr. Crane is preceded in death by a sister Martha Jean Grafton.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday , December 11, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Braun of the Glenmoor Presbyertian Church, Officating.

Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, December 10, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

Family requests Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley on St. Clair Ave. East Liverpool, Ohio.
