Mary Frances Thieman
Virginia Beach – Mary Frances Thieman passed away March 28, 2015. She was born in Princess Anne County to the late Cordie and Garland Strawhand. Frances was an amazing and selfless woman, always thinking of others before herself. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, loved the Lord, enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing, crocheting, quilting, working in the yard, riding in the golf cart, sharing chocolate and above all, loving, caring for and spoiling her family. Frances was a kind, gentle soul who loved everyone and always had a kind word and beautiful smile to share. She was predeceased by a son, Warren Lee Thieman Judy.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Gene Thieman; children, Linda Xenakis Nick, Theodore “Ted” Thieman Gayle, Debbie Perkins Jimmy, David Thieman Kim, and Cheryl Childress Mike; grandchildren, Jeremiah Lynsey, Jessie Jeremy, Josh Kim, Ben Ashley, Matthew, Alicia Chuck, Jeb Katy, Megan Jamie, Melissa, Dylan, Andrew, Jared Katie, Kirsten, Michael, and Stephen; great grandchildren. Nicholas, Sam, Mahayla, Jameson, Madison, Elijah, Aiden, Xiah, and Zara; and a host of other family and friends. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that will leave a void in our lives forever.
The family will be receiving friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake, on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. A celebration of Frances’s life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Moseley officiating. Burial and a reception will immediately follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church New Building Fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family ataltmeyer.com.

Gene and family, it is with sadness mixed with joy that I received this news from Gene on Monday, sadness for all of you that will miss her, JOY for her that this life holds her here no more and she is now where we all are destined to be through our Lord Jesus Christ.
