Mary D. "Dolly" Gaus Haley Ferkol, 82, of Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Wheeling Continuous Care Center.<br>Dolly was born August 31, 1920 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Bernard J. and Dora C. Miller Gaus.<br>She was a retired nurse and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling.<br>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ferkol; a son, Ronlad Haley; three sisters, Clara Mae Gaus, Eleanor Gaus and Ann Cox; and two brothers, Bernard and Alfred Gaus.<br>Surviving are two sons, Russell Haley and his wife, Rebecca, of Wheeling and Robert Haley and his wife, Linda, of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; a daughter-in-law, Connie Haley of Wheeling; a step-son, Frank Ferkol Jr. and his wife Becky of Raleigh, N.C.; a step-daughter Marlene Miller of Steubenville, Ohio; two sisters Rosie Snyder and Sara Schnupp and her husband, Bill all of Wheeling; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.<br>Freinds will be received from noon until 3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 with the Rev. James Sobus officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.<br>The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Wheeling Health Rite or the Wheeling Continuous Care Center.

I was very sorry not to be able to attend Dolly’s funeral as she has been such a good friend through quite a few years. Her loving concern for our Sr. Miriam Joseph has been a source of much consolation and to the loss shared by all her family, we add our own. May she rest in peace.
