KASE, Mary Catherine, 80, of Wheeling, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1929, in Wheeling, to the late William and Magdalene Roth Peckstein. She was employed by Wheeling Dollar Trust and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, and Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, G. Gerald Kase, and her sister, Dolores Peckstein Lang.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Frances Kase of Wheeling, Teresa Kase of Wheeling, and Barbara Kevin Smith of Valley Grove, WV; one son, Jerry Kase of Wheeling; two grandchildren, Laura Smith of Middletown, PA, and Kristopher Smith of Valley Grove; one brother-in-law, Paul Lang of Wexford, PA; two nieces, Mary Ann Hay and Kathleen Mannion; two nephews, Bill Lang and Thomas Lang; twelve great nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, where vigil services will be held Friday Evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday 11, 2009 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. James LaCrosse S.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501, The American Heart Association, 207 Debbie Ann Drive, Willow Springs Estates, Wheeling, WV 26003, and Meal on Wheels of Wheeling at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3536 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
