MITSCH, Mary C., 89, of Bethany Pike, Wheeling, died Friday, Juy 27, 2001, at her residence.
Mary was born May 13, 1912 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William M. and Katherine Hughes Mitsch.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, a 1934 graduate of the Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pa., a teacher at the Cardome Visitation Academy in Georgetown, Ky., a chemist at Dupont Chemical Company in New Jersey, and was a mathematics teacher at Mt. de Chantal Visitation Academy, Wheeling.
In addition she had a wide variety of interests including gardening, antique restoration, sewing, stamp collecting and geneology.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Mitsch and a sister-in-law, Evelyn M. Mitsch.
Surviving are three nieces, Catherine C. Sultany and her husband, Wazir of Parkersburg, W.Va., Mary Theresa Vogel and her husband, Michael of Aliquippa, Pa., and Rita A. Solinsky and her husband, Joseph of Baltimore, Md.; four nephews, William J. Mitsch and his wife, Ruthmarie of Columbus, Ohio, Robert L. Mitsch and his wife, Bernadette of Kettering, Ohio, Joseph E. Mitsch and his wife, Christine of Valley Grove, W.Va., and James M. Mitsch and his wife, Caryl of Simsbury, CT; 17 great-nieces and nephews; three great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Saturday, July 28, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday, Juy 29, 2001 from noon-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. A vigil service will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 30, 2001 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
